Private Fishing. North Lake, South Hill Park, Bracknell
Acrylic
When I first saw this heron, I thought it was a stuffed mascot placed on the sign by the Angling Club. I kept very still and watched and suddenly the head of the "mascot" flipped from left to right.
The dabchick on the right of the picture plays a very important role in the composition.
About 6 weeks after I took this photograph, there was an item in the local paper describing how this bird had been found shot - possibly by an enraged koi carp breeder?
